On November 21, Dr. Zhu Jiuhua, Professor of Business School of Monash University and Director in charge of Sino-Australia program visits BITZH and was warmly welcomed by Ms. He Xiaoyang, Director of International Office.
Both parties made some concluding remarks, including some views and suggestions about the 2+2 joint undergraduate program, which was initiated in 2014. After that, they discussed the 3.5+1.5 Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Business double degree program. They also exchanged ideas about some detailed issues like the optional courses that students of specific majorsin BITZH needed to study.
In the afternoon, Professor Zhu introduced to students of BITZH the 2+2 program and 3.5+1.5 program in the information session. First of all, he used English to greet students and emphasized repeatedly the importance of studying English well, encouraging students to make efforts to polish their English. According to him, over 1 million foreign students (most are college students) are studying in Australia, among which 300,000 are Chinese. Statistics show that Australia is one of the countries that are the most appropriate for study; what’s more, Australia ranks seven of Global Well-being Index.
Then, Professor Zhu introduced the achievement Monash University had made in the recent years. It was founded in 1958. Young as it is, it has become one of the top 1% of universities in the world. Professor Zhu focused on Business School, which achieved the 'Triple Crown' accreditation, namely, the Association of MBAs (based in London), European Quality Improvement System (based in Brussels) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (based in America). Of all the schools offering business degree programs worldwide, only about 150 have triple accreditation. There are only a few with this honor in Chinese Mainland. From the statistics, people can be sure of the high teaching quality in Business School of Monash University.
Those attending the meeting also included personnel from ICG Groups, the proxy for Monash University to deal with students’ recruitment in China, such as Chairman Mr. Yuan Difan,General Manager Mr. Lin Bin and Manager of Zhuhai Office Ms. Huang Guiting.
