On March 14th, Mark Kornbluh, Dean of College of Arts and Sciences, University of Kentucky, Doctor Ted Way, Director of English Teaching Institure, Ms. HuajingXiu, Director of Confucius Institutes and Executive Director of China Program Officeand Ms. Megan Koshurba, Cordinator of International Students Program visited SINO-US College, BITZH. Kevin Zhen, Vice President of BITZH warmly welcomed the guests.

The visit of University of Kentucky is of great significance to the undergraduate program cooperation between the University of Kentucky and SINO-US College, BITZH. To welcome the guests,the SINO-US college specially hosted a lunch buffet, which over 60 teachers and students have joined. Dr. Mark Kornbluhdelivered an enthusiastic speech during the Welcome Buffet, which introduces some basic information of University of Kentucky and welcomed SINO-US College students to study in Kentucky in the near future. Ms. HuajingXiu introduced the basketball activities and horse racing activities in University of Kentucky. At the same time, she expressed her willingness to provide consultation and help to international students, especially Chinese students, and shareon-campus part-time job opportunities.

2.Students from SION-US Had an Active Interaction with Mark during the Welcome Buffet

University of Kentucky had a compact three-day visit to BITZH. The guests paid a visit to English Writing Center of SINO-US College and had further communications with the teachers, discussing the future education concepts. Megan held a lecture for freshmen and sophomore year students from SINO-US College on joint undergraduate programs withUniversity of Kentucky, giving detailed introduction to their international student’s enrollment, campus culture, living environment,admission requirementsetc. Mark Kornbluh, Ms. HuajingXiu and President Zhen went to Guangzhou and Shenzhen, holding parent meeting on undergraduate programs atUniversity of Kentucky. A great number of parents attended the meeting and the atmosphere is pretty heated. In the end, a special TOEFL testand one-on-one interviews were carried out towards the freshmen and sophomores from SION-US College who were interested in transferring to University of Kentucky. There were nearly a hundred students who participated in the special TOEFL test and Dr. Ted Way delivered a pre-test lecture to those candidates. Ms. Megan, who was responsible for the TOEFL test and interview, said that the students all presented excellent performance and she highly praised such effective and efficient enrolling mode to know more about students through face-to-face interactions. She hopes that morestudents can have an opportunity to study in University of Kentucky.
