Information Session by University of Strathclyde Successfully Held

       On the afternoon of Oct.11th, Dr. Zeng Junying, the International Patnerships Manager of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at University of Strathclyde, paid a visit to BITZH and held an information session in HD203 in Hongyi Building, with the theme of “Instruction to Scottish Culture and the University of Strathclyde”

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Zeng Junying gave a brief self-introduction, and then introduced British culture and the culture of Scotland to the teachers and students present. Dr. Zeng Junying mentioned that Scotland had historically been an independent country and retained a strong sense of independence and distinct national traditions even after the merger with England. Meanwhile, Dr.Zeng Junying also stated that Scotland is known for its plaid, bagpipes, cattle farming and its whiskey. What’s more, Scottish Highlands, which located in the northwest, is famous for its magnificent natural scenery. And the city Glasgow, where Strathclyde University sits, is renowned as the commercial capital of Scotland. After the introduction, students have a further understanding of Scotland and Glasgow.

After that, Dr. Zeng Junying gave a comprehensive introduction of the university's geographical location, campus environment and school history. Afterwards, she explained in detail the issues concerned by students, such as optional majors, accommodation, tuition, scholarship and so on.

In the final question and answer session, the students raised questions about Scotland and the University of Scotland. Dr. Zeng Junying answered them one by one. The lecture ended in a warm atmosphere.
