Teacher Ma firstly on behalf of TUT highly praised the excellent performance of our exchanged students for their hard study at TUT, which won wide recognition from TUT teachers. Among these exchanged student, Chen Wan-tong from our school of liberal arts & law is not only the first of our students who got the library card at the Estonian National Library but also the first international student at TUT who got that card.


Teacher Ma and Director He had a further discussionon the relevant matters regarding the student exchange program between the two universities, and exchanged opinion on the English standard for admission. Meanwhile they discussed the 2+2 joint training program. Teacher Ma particularly introduced the summer school program, robot contest and business model design gams, and hoped that both universities would have more cooperation in all aspects.
Following that meeting, Teacher Ma introduced TUT to our students in the lecture room of our university library, in particular, the history, general conditions, number of students and majors of TUT. Additionally, she described the student exchange program between our two universities and the current situation of our exchanged students at TUT. Due to Teacher Ma’s introduction, our students had more knowledge of TUT and the lecture was ended in a pleasant atmosphere.
Introduction of Tallinn University of Technology
Tallinn University of Technology (“TUT”) was founded in 1918. It is the largest publicuniversity of science and engineering in Estonia, and the unique Estonian university with focus on information technology, business management and engineering. TUT consists of 8 colleges and 10 institutes, and has 128 degree-awarded majors. Currently it has 14,000 enrolled students (among who 1,000 are international students, and 50 are Chinese students), 2,000 faculties (among who 1,150 are scholars). At present TUT is ranked No. 450globally among universities. The campus of TUT is about 10km away from the downtown of Tallinn, with a driving distance of only 15 minutes to the airport. The traffic condition of TUT is very convenient. TUT has a wide-range cooperation with a number of esteemed world universities such as Berkeley, Standford, Artaud and Shanghai Jiaotong University, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Macao University of Science and Technology. It also has a lot of cooperation projects with world-known hi-tech companies such as Microsoft, Skype, Samsung and Huawei etc.
